A charming, Edwardian-era, five stone ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, with an elegant, tapering profile. This antique band is carved so that its face appears slightly recessed and nested inside the split, palm-like decor of its shoulders. At center, a shapely, four-pointed, lanceolate channel holds the ring’s five gemstones— three chunky old mine cut diamonds and a petite pair of natural blue sapphires. This central channel is both leaf-like and cruciform. We love the quality of near-concentric repetition in this design, and the clever depth-play in the carving! This admirable old darling bears a full set of English hallmarks. Marked for Birmingham and the year 1910.It would make a very sweet wedding band.
